02.26 - Interior Painting (Lambeth)
This job was short and sweet - the clients had a few areas of their home that needed to be made good again. Notably, some water damage underneath the windows in the loft conversion, as well as peeling paint around the fireplace in the living room.
Here you can see the extent of the water damage in the loft. A lot of the surrounding paint was peeling and had to be scraped off. One positive was that, because it separated from the wall so easily, I was able to extract some larger pieces of paint to get a Dulux colour match. Dulux might not be the sexiest paint brand, but I do find their colour matching service to be great.
A before-and-after of the whole wall. To be transparent, I got a bit carried away on this job and forgot to apply any stain-blocking primer to the water patches before painting. Consequently, there's a good chance that the stains will poke through again eventually. I did offer to rectify this for free, but fortunately my client was very understanding.
Repair of a crack in the corner.
Then touching up the trim under the windows. Do these count as architraves?
Next up was this eyesore in the living room. Imagine you're winding down for the day - watching a bit of Naked Attraction with a glass of wine, and you have all those cracks staring back at you. Heinous.
After a couple of passes of filling and sanding.
And the finished product - Dulux colour match working its magic again.
