Garden Maintenance - Hampshire 08.25

A few outdoor maintenance jobs at a property near the New Forest in Hampshire. While I was down this way, I also completed some decorating work for the same clients. This is documented on another post which you can find here.

The first job was to clear out this bed, creating a blank canvas. Originally, it was full of wild flowers that the clients sowed after receiving the seeds for their wedding. I thought this was a really sweet idea, and certainly popular with the bees. However, the space had become overgrown and the clients were ready for a change.

I had to be careful as there were lots of brambles (and spiders) lurking round the back. After putting on my big boy pants and holding my gut in to fit behind the shed, I cleared these as much as possible from the root to stunt their growth.

Next up was some trimming. Took a before shot of this hedge and like a muppet I didn't get an after pic! If you want to know what it looked like after - imagine this same hedge but a bit neater and flatter on top.

It really is amazing what a little trim of the bush can do. You can also see the aforementioned hedge in the background here, so I suppose I did get after pics of it (just).

Last up was to give this larger hedgerow a short back and sides.

Some more horrible brambles trying to poke through. They didn't even have any blackberries for me so they can go!

After a good ol' trim. Annoyingly, there were a few whiskers I couldn't reach without access to the neighbour's garden - but overall much tidier! And yes, I promise I cleared up all the trimmings after. Little Wall-E in the corner would be the size of a house by now otherwise.
