A pretty straightforward job for one of my favourite clients - installing two new blinds and a large wall print. I usually forget to take pictures for these kind of jobs but this one had a great story so thought it was worth posting.

First up, fitting this yellow blind to add a splash of colour. It definitely blocks more light than the previous blinds as well. The client sourced these himself, so I'm not sure on the exact model/colour. However, I do know they're from Blinds Direct, in their 'Designer' style. This style has a strip of matching-colour fabric along the headrail, which boasts a tidy, coordinated look.

In the next room, I did the exact same thing again! This time in black. Not as a dramatic of an upgrade this time, but still worth doing as the old blinds were looking a bit haggard.




Finally, this large wall print displaying artwork from the The Smiths' Shoplifters of the World Unite. Despite feeling very indifferent about The Smiths, I felt compelled to get this done for my client as it was so important to him. The print was originally owned by my client's late partner and had sadly been residing in the storage cupboard for too long since his passing.


So here it is in all its glory with the furniture (mostly) back in place! I actually got pretty spooked when I hung this. I was already a bit nervous to see if it would sit flat on the wall - but then the second I took my hands off, Johnny Marr's haunting tremolo guitar from How Soon Is Now? came on shuffle out of my phone. I'm sure it was just a weird coincidence. Unless...
