REPAIRPAINTING
Interior Painting - Lambeth 06.25

Refreshing a kitchen for one of my favourite clients in Stockwell. This room has seen the demise of many cigarettes and had consequently acquired a lot of nicotine staining. Nothing a lick of paint can't fix, though!

Here is the most dramatic comparison I got of the smoke stains. On the left is Dulux's Cornflower White + nicotine. On the right is a fresh coat of the same colour.

As I was painting the ceiling, I realised the light fittings were also not meant to be the colour they were. Fortunately, these were easily cleaned with a gentle wipe.

The staining on the walls wasn't quite as obvious but was definitely still present. This colour is Frosted Grape by Dulux.

I couldn't be bothered to paint this wall so I just stuck a picture up to hide the stains instead. Worked a treat.

Some progress shots of the door into the hallway. All the woodwork was Jasmine White, again by Dulux. This neutral has a hint of creaminess, so isn't a stark white. However, in the second picture, you can really see how much fresher the frame looks compared to the door, which was still yet to be painted.

For some reason, this client would only ever give me this mug when he made me a cup of tea, not sure why. (Does anyone know what UNT stands for?)

I can only assume it means something like ultra-neat tradesman, because after finishing the kitchen, I was offered more work around the house. Here is a before and after of the bathroom door.

At a later date, I also repainted the walls in Bright Skies.

Inside the bathroom, some touching up of the woodwork.

Finally, in the living room, some restorative work where the paint on the walls had started peeling. Typically, this was my favourite colour I'd worked with on this job and I can't remember its name! If I find out from the client, I'll update this post.
